Where do you boat? Just wondering where everyone boats? We boat at Lake Cumberland (or did...). Not sure how boat-able that lake will be this summer :(

Re: Where do you boat? We do our boating on Lake of the Ozarks, but I have heard a rumor about no wake speed on the lake due to all the boats sitting on the bottom of the lake after the ice storms a few months ago. Something about not wanting to stir up al the fuel and chemicals that have possibly leaked from them.
Whats up with Lake Cumberland not being boat-able this year? Its one of the lakes that was on my list to travel to for some good boating. No longer trailering but just curious as to whats up? |

Re: Where do you boat? The dam is failing:
Lake Cumberland Dam Link They have lowered the water level from 723 ft. above sea level (normal summer pool) to 680 ft. They say they may now have to lower another 10-30ft. This is all to take pressure off the dam. This project is expected to take up to 7 years to complete. 90% of the ramps may be unusable. |

Re: Where do you boat? Cave Run Lake in Morehead Ky. Its not the biggest lake, but the area is really beautiful being in the middle of the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Re: Where do you boat? We boat at lake Eufaula, Oklahoma. Huge lake, lots of beaches, always somewhere to get to some calm water. We love it!

Re: Where do you boat? weseek1-
You truly are blessed being that close to so many boatable lakes. I grew up in Wisconsin, and was in the same situation. We had 2 good lakes for boating and skiing with minutes of the house, and 7 additional larger lakes within an hour of home. Now its 2.5 hrs (if I drive really fast) to get to the lake. Alls well when we get there, but its a long ride down! |

Re: Where do you boat? Hello all, we were at Cave Run just last weekend for the first time. Water was great, could not have been cleaner.
